We rented a car in Las Vegas and drove to the Grand Canyon National Park in the state of Arizona. It took over four hours to drive to the Grand Canyon, South Rim and then another four plus hours to get back to Las Vegas.
The Grand Canyon is magnificent, breathtaking, and vast! It spans 446 kms long, up to 29 kms wide, and a mile (1.6 kms) deep. The rugged landscape is comprised of both desert (next to the Colorado River, deep in the canyon) and forests atop its North Rim, and it is home to a variety of plant and animal life
